BUGHOUSE WARS III

Bughouse is an exciting version of chess where two-player teams work together to defeat their opponents—just like the rebels vs. the Empire. Well, not exactly like that. It's more like chess, but with the sort of raucousness and levity TDs typically discourage. As you can see in these videos, everybody loves bughouse, from kids in school chess clubs to the world's top GMs!

 

DATE: Friday, September 6

 

LOCATION: Oklahoma City Chess Club (10 NE 10th Street, second floor)

TIME CONTROL: G/5 (Game in five minutes, no increment or delay.

 

FORMAT: Five double rounds, Swiss

 

PRIZES: Trophies for the top three overall teams and the top team with an average rating under 1000.

 

SCHEDULE: Doors open at 5 p.m. for practice and for players to find partners. Registration ends at 6 p.m. Preregistered players must check in by 6 p.m.

 

REGISTRATION CUTOFF: 6 p.m.

 

EQUIPMENT: Sets & clocks provided.


ENTRY: $10 per player. Register online using the form below or onsite by 6 p.m. 

 

This tournament is not US Chess rated. No membership is required.


TEAMS: You can enter your partner's name when you register, or send us an email later once you've found one. No partner? Come at 5:00 and find one there. (Everybody can show up as early as 5 p.m. to practice)

The club is located on the second floor of the Kamp's 1910 building, 10 NE 10th Street in downtown Oklahoma City.
Don't bring in any outside food or drink. (Instead, enjoy something from Kamp's delicious menu. See it here.)
